With sanctions on Russia affecting world oil prices, the price at the pump has risen sharply and is set to keep rising. We went on the Havelock fueller with Orion and took 454 litres at $2.08/litre. Here Mahoenui is taking who-knows-how-much in Picton one week later.

Unsettled spring weather has been bordering on the extreme at times. So lucky to have good weather for the Tuia 250 celebrations, shortly to be followed by this: the tug coming out to assist the Kaitaki in northerly winds gusting 50 knots. Oh, and heavy rain! I got soaked taking this picture.

An agony of waiting. One sleep to go! We are all packed and organised, and are off to Blenheim airport early to fly to Auckland. We plan to hire a car and drive to Bayswater, and hope to be on board by mid afternoon.

Round the back of the ferry terminal on Lagoon Road is TCC's yard with two cradles, and a jetty. There's a big shed, and inside we met with Shorty and Fred who were "no problem" kinda guys. They're tuned into wooden boats too, so we may find ourselves hauled out here before very long.
